Gluten Free Conversion Chart November 5, 2012

A handy conversion chart when you have a recipe that you would like to convert to gluten free.

A few years ago I found this conversion chart for making some recipes gluten free.  We have not used it a great deal yet because we don’t always have all the ingredients on hand and we are not sure if having all the ingredients is actually less expensive than purchasing some of the blended flours.  Both my daughter and I really like the King Arthur flour mixes that are available for pies, cookies and a general flour mixture that we have used to make breads……………but we both like to experiment with recipes so this conversion chart has come in very handy!

One of the items that can be expensive is the Xamtham Gum, but it is not available in small packages (like yeast) at the grocery.  I hope this works for you in your quest to convert gluten recipes over to gluten free.     Enjoy!!!!    For comments/questions email ramona@lowfatdivablog.com
